Educause 2013
I will be at Educause Annual Conference 2013 ~ October 15-18; Anaheim, CA.
Educause is a nonprofit association and community of IT professionals committed to advancing higher ed.
I will be attending two seminars:
Principles and Practices: Building an Effective Social Media Toolkit
Social media represents a powerful cultural shift in communication, relationships, and information. Although specific platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest may not be with us forever, the larger change they wrought about will continue to have a significant impact on how we live and work. As a result, we believe it is vitally important to talk about not only specific social media sites but also the key principles behind the emergence and use of social media. Through discussion, hands-on activities, and use cases, this session will encourage participants to consider the opportunities and constraints of social media while emphasizing underlying principles and how to apply them using diverse tools across various contexts.
Speakers:
Mark Gammon ~ Academic Technology Researcher; University of Colorado Boulder
Shannon Ritter ~ Social Media Coordinator, Admissions and Recruitment; Pennsylvania State U
Reimagining the “E” in E-Portfolio: Emerging, Engaging, and Enriching Technologies for Teaching and Learning
